about

Bertolt Brecht's play 'The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui' transposes Hitler's rise to power from Nazi Germany to Chicago during prohibition in the late 1920s and early 30s. A low-level gangster takes control of the city, firstly, through terrorising his opponents and, secondly, through the collusion of mainstream politicians and business leaders who think that they can control him. The Seventh Wave represents the confluence of a growing neo-fascist threat and an environmental crisis, both of which will have terrifying consequences if left unchallenged. As Brecht warned, they need to be met with resistence now, before it is too late.
